Hello to all. Sharing another fun technique with you, using your Spectrum Aqua markers and a square of bubble wrap, to create colorful and textured backgrounds.
Cut a square of Watercolor Card approx (here, I have used Crafter’s Companion card) 5” x 5” and mask around the edges of your card to create a border. Apply a thin coat of water to the card using your paintbush (this helps with the absorption of your ink layer).
Spectrum Aqua marker Teal is applied to your palette or acrylic block and watered down to make a moist color medium.
Cut a square of bubble wrap to match your watercolor card dimensions, or as you require.
Press your bubble wrap sheet into the moist ink medium to cover as much, or as little, of the bubble wrap that you wish to color.
Apply the bubble wrap to your watercolor card and press down on the bubbles to transfer the ink to your card.
Showing the finished colored square with the Spectrum Aqua Teal marker used and the masking tape removed from the edges of the card.
This is such a fun technique and so easy to do.
Showing a variation of this technique using 3 Spectrum Aqua markers; Kingfisher, Bud Green and Meadow.
Tip:
Masking tape may lift the edge from your project, when removed from card.
You can reduce some of the stickiness from your tape by applying it to the back of your hand or your craft mat. Masking tape can be kept and recycled from one project to another.
