Creating a Spinner Card

step10

This a fun tutorial on creating a spinner card.  It’s a quick and easy project and lots of fun!

For this project Core’dinations cardstock was embossed and distressed.

step1

Two different sized concentric cutting dies were used to create the channel for your slider mechanism.

step2

Decide what image you wish to spin around your heart channel.

Here I have colored a cute pup image using Spectrum Noir makers IG1, IG3, IG5, CR5, CR8 and Spectrum Noir Sparkle pen, Red Berry.

The image has been fussy cut.

step3

To give extra strength to the panel and detail, these were glued onto a backing sheet of cardstock and cut to size.

The edges were inked with Distress ink.

step4

Dimensional sticky pads were attached to the outer edge of the main backing panel and to the center of the die cut heart.

Remove the backing paper from the dimensional pads and give each a coat of glue stick, this will allow some maneuverability as you position your panel and heart.

step5

The embossed panel is attached to a backing card and colored mount.

Choose your spinner mechanism.  Here a penny has been used.

The spinner mechanism has to be large enough to sit within your spinner channel with some overlap, so that it does not pop out when in use.

step6

Attach your central heart panel as shown, over the penny and create your spinner channel.

Add smaller dimensional pads to the penny, here two pads have been used to create some extra depth for your spinner mechanism.

step7

Apply another penny or spinner of your choice to the underside of your spinner image.

step8

Assemble your spinner by attaching the image to the card using the small dimensional pads

step9

Decorate your card as required.  Here the die cuts have been colored using Spectrum Noir Sparkle pen, Red Berry and small dots created with a white gel pen.

step10

A fun collage created with pictures of the puppy as it spins round the finished card.  I hope you have enjoyed this tutorial.
